Senior Designer, Roads

About the role

As a Senior Designer in the Roads team at Aurecon, you will translate engineering concepts into detailed, constructible designs for transport infrastructure projects across Australia and internationally.

Key responsibilities

• Develop high‑quality 3D road and civil design models using 12d Model.
• Produce detailed drawings and documentation that support safe and efficient delivery of road and highway projects.
• Interpret design standards and Austroads guidelines, converting engineering input into accurate plan outputs.
• Collaborate with engineers, drafters and multidisciplinary teams to ensure constructability and integration of design elements.
• Support digital design processes, participate in design reviews and apply Aurecon quality assurance protocols throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 7‑10+ years of road design experience in Australia, with proven use of Austroads design guidelines.
• Demonstrated ability to work within multidisciplinary teams and a passion for continuous learning.

Required skills

• Proficiency in 12d Model software (essential).
