Senior AWS DevOps Engineer – Remote (Night Shift)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer to own and evolve cloud infrastructure for a global tech company. The position is fully remote, based in the Philippines, and works night‑shift hours to collaborate with US‑based leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate highly available and scalable AWS infrastructure (EC2, autoscaling groups, AMIs, RDS, ELB, VPC, security groups).
• Drive capacity planning, cost‑effective scaling, and performance tuning.
• Own cloud security posture, including IAM least‑privilege access, network security, intrusion detection, patch management, and vulnerability remediation.
• Ensure high availability, backup, disaster recovery, and implement monitoring, logging, and alerting using CloudWatch and third‑party observability tools.
• Lead incident response, troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis and continuously improve system reliability.
• Build and maintain infrastructure as code (Terraform or CloudFormation) and support CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Collaborate with engineering, QA, and leadership to provide architectural guidance and promote best practices.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or cloud infrastructure roles.
• Proven experience operating production AWS environments.
• Strong background in system reliability, security, and performance.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Experience supporting Ruby applications is a plus.

Required skills

• AWS services: EC2, RDS, Elastic Load Balancing, Autoscaling, VPC, IAM.
• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform (preferred) and/or CloudFormation.
• Linux system administration.
• Scripting languages: Bash, Python (or similar).
• Monitoring and observability: CloudWatch, logging, alerting, third‑party tools.
• CI/CD pipeline design and automation.
