Search Engine Optimization Specialist (Asia)

About the role

Manulife is seeking a Search Engine Optimization Specialist to drive organic visibility and lead generation across its Asian markets. You will work within the SEO/GEO workstream, supporting both classic and AI‑driven search initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage delivery timelines, stakeholder expectations, and QA/launch monitoring using project‑management tools.
• Communicate SEO concepts (GEO, AEO, AXO, ASO) and best practices to partners across Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Taiwan, Indonesia, Japan, Vietnam and other markets.
• Maintain technical SEO baselines, diagnose issues, and implement solutions aligned with internal platforms.
• Conduct keyword research, competitor analysis, search‑intent mapping, and create SEO briefs for content optimisation.
• Oversee content approval processes with Product, Legal, Compliance and Marketing teams.
• Develop educational materials such as playbooks, guidelines and training resources.
• Produce regular performance reports, updates and presentations for stakeholders.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of proven SEO experience with measurable improvements across multiple Asian markets.
• Background in financial services and regional role preferred.
• Fluent in written and spoken English; additional local language a plus.

Required skills

• Technical SEO: indexability, crawlability, robots.txt, XML sitemaps, meta robots tags, redirect handling (301/302), URL structure, Core Web Vitals, canonical tags, internal linking, backlink management.
• Content SEO: keyword research, content audits, gap analysis, SEO briefs, translation‑tool usage, duplicate content handling, keyword cannibalisation, search‑intent mapping, content hierarchy.
• Project management tools for timeline and stakeholder coordination.
