Quantity Surveyor

About the role

The Quantity Surveyor will support the delivery of construction projects by providing accurate cost estimates, managing contracts, and monitoring financial performance. Working closely with architects, engineers and contractors, the role ensures that projects stay within budget while meeting quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Study project drawings and specifications to calculate material, labor and other construction costs.
• Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, budget proposals and feasibility studies for clients.
• Develop Bills of Quantities (BOQ) to define project scope and pricing.
• Evaluate contractor tenders, negotiate contract terms and manage contractual variations and claims.
• Track project costs against the approved budget, identify potential overruns and propose mitigation strategies.
• Analyse design changes and assess their impact on overall project cost.
• Produce comprehensive cost reports for clients, project managers and other stakeholders.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers and contractors to ensure alignment on cost control measures.
