Purchasing Agent

About the role

The client, a residential and commercial construction company, is seeking a Purchasing Agent to support the construction team by sourcing subcontractors, obtaining material pricing, coordinating vendor communications, and assisting with administrative purchasing activities. The role is full‑time, Monday to Friday, 7:00 am–4:30 pm PST, and requires clear spoken English throughout the shift.

Key responsibilities

• Research and identify qualified subcontractors, suppliers, and service providers within designated geographic areas.
• Contact vendors to request quotes, availability, and project information; gather and compare multiple bids.
• Maintain vendor contact lists and sourcing databases.
• Obtain pricing for construction materials, products, and services; follow up on quotes, invoices, and pricing discrepancies.
• Track requested bids and deliver information to appropriate team members.
• Serve as point of contact between the company and external vendors via phone and email.
• Organize documents, quotes, invoices, and project‑related files; create and maintain spreadsheets for tracking bids, pricing, and vendor information.
• Convert, manage, and organize files in Word, Excel, PDF, and other common formats.
• Assist with additional administrative tasks as needed to support team operations.
