Purchasing Agent (Construction)

About the role

The client is a residential and commercial construction company seeking a reliable Purchasing Agent to support vendor coordination and material procurement. You will work closely with the construction team to source subcontractors, gather bids, and assist with day‑to‑day purchasing activities.

Key responsibilities

• Research and identify qualified subcontractors, suppliers, and service providers in designated regions.
• Contact vendors to request quotes, availability, and project details.
• Gather, compare, and track multiple bids for construction materials and services.
• Maintain vendor contact lists and sourcing databases.
• Obtain pricing for construction materials, follow up on quotes, invoices, and pricing discrepancies.
• Serve as the primary point of contact between the company and external vendors via phone and email.
• Organize documents, quotes, invoices, and project files; create and maintain spreadsheets for tracking bids and vendor information.
• Assist with additional administrative tasks to support team operations.

Required profile

• Strong research and analytical abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Highly organized, resourceful, and able to work independently.
• Adaptable and comfortable interacting with vendors, suppliers, and service providers.

What we offer
