Project Inspector – Electrical Engineer (Local)

About the role

The Project Inspector – Electrical Engineer will oversee electrical installation works on large infrastructure projects in the Philippines. Reporting to the Electrical Lead, you will ensure compliance with design, standards and safety requirements while supporting testing and commissioning activities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections of electrical installations, including cable trays, conduits, power cables, grounding systems, switchgear, transformers and auxiliary systems.
• Verify that works comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements and the Philippine Electrical Code (PEC).
• Identify non‑conforming items, recommend corrective actions and monitor implementation of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
• Witness and document electrical testing and commissioning, reviewing insulation resistance, continuity, grounding and functional test results.
• Maintain daily inspection records, site logs and prepare progress reports (daily, weekly, monthly).
• Support the Electrical Lead in tracking contractor performance and resolving construction issues.
• Monitor HSE compliance, report unsafe practices and participate in toolbox meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Licensed Electrical Engineer (REE) in the Philippines.
• Minimum 7 years of professional electrical engineering experience.
• At least 5 years in construction supervision, inspection or QA/QC of power, hydropower, dam, pumped‑storage or large infrastructure projects.
• Experience with Owner’s Engineer, Engineer’s Representative or EPC projects is preferred.

Required skills

• Knowledge of electrical power systems, substations, transformers, switchgear, generators, motors and auxiliary systems.
• Familiarity with Philippine Electrical Code (PEC), IEC and IEEE standards.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, single‑line diagrams and technical specifications.
• Understanding of QA/QC procedures, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and commissioning processes.
• Proficiency in MS Office and engineering reporting tools.
