Project Inspector – Dredging Works

About the role

Surbanajurong is seeking a Project Inspector for dredging works to oversee reservoir desiltation, intake clearing and related water‑resource projects. The role involves ensuring compliance with engineering standards, environmental regulations and contract requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct dredging operations including reservoir desiltation, intake clearing and river training works.
• Perform quantity verification and support contractor billing processes.
• Ensure environmental compliance throughout project execution.
• Interpret engineering drawings and dredging plans for large‑scale water‑retaining structures.
• Coordinate with project teams under FIDIC‑based contracts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master’s degree in Hydraulic/Water Resources Engineering preferred.
• Licensed/registered Civil Engineer where required.
• 8–12 years of civil engineering experience, including at least 5 years on dam, reservoir or hydropower projects.
• Proven experience in dredging operations and large infrastructure projects.
• Training in marine/dredging operations, construction safety, environmental management (e.g., ISO 14001), QA/QC, and hydrographic surveys.
• Experience with international donor‑funded projects.

Required skills

• Cutter suction, clamshell and backhoe dredging methodologies.
• Hydrographic survey software.
• MS Office suite.
• Project scheduling tools such as Primavera or MS Project.
• Strong documentation and reporting capabilities.
• Interpretation of engineering drawings and dredging plans.
