Product Research Strategist – Retail & CPG

About the role

Petra Brands is looking for a Product Research Strategist to lead consumer insight and trend forecasting for its flagship party and craft brand, House of Party. The role blends data‑driven research with hands‑on product development to create a pipeline of market‑ready concepts for both e‑commerce and retail shelves.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain an AI‑powered research system that captures early market signals from social media, design blogs and global retail sources, targeting at least 70% accuracy in trend detection.
• Produce a monthly report that includes actionable product ideas, visual briefs and commercial viability assessments.
• Compile a comprehensive Market Recap & Competitor Overview each month, covering retail trends, packaging architecture and consumer pain points.
• Conduct deep‑dive research on party supplies, celebration and craft categories, as well as adjacent eco‑friendly product spaces.
• Develop programmatic dashboards for continuous sentiment analysis and multi‑market data synthesis.

Required profile

• Proven experience in consumer brands, retail or creative product environments.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable product concepts.
• Experience managing end‑to‑end consumer insight projects and collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, seasonal category and meet monthly deliverable deadlines.

Required skills

• Familiarity with AI‑enabled research workflows and sentiment analysis tools.
• Experience using advanced Amazon analytics platforms (e.g., Helium 10) or similar market intelligence software.
• Proficiency in building and maintaining data dashboards.
