Procurement Officer

About the role

The Procurement Officer will manage the end‑to‑end purchasing process, ensuring that goods and services are sourced on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. This role supports Austal’s operations by translating internal needs into clear sourcing requirements and maintaining strong supplier relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and verify purchase requisitions for accuracy and completeness.
• Clarify ambiguities in requisitions and define sourcing specifications.
• Identify suitable suppliers, request quotations and evaluate them against requirements.
• Obtain stakeholder approval for preferred commercial proposals.
• Maintain procurement trackers, update delivery timelines and generate regular reports.
• Expedite late deliveries and coordinate logistics for faster fulfillment.
• Resolve material discrepancies and close out related reports promptly.
• Coordinate with Finance to address payment and invoice issues.
• Process new supplier applications and ensure compliance with Austal Philippines Commercial Terms & Conditions.
• Review, close out, and clean up processed orders within project lifecycles.

Required profile

• Graduate degree in a relevant field.
• Effective written and spoken communication skills.
• 3‑5+ years of experience in supply chain or procurement.
• Experience using an ERP system, preferably IFS or similar.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Hands‑on experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems – IFS or comparable platforms.
