OT Technician

About the role

The Operating Theatre (OT) Technician will support surgical teams by ensuring the operating room is fully prepared, safe, and efficiently run. This position offers an opportunity to work in a reputable hospital environment and gain hands‑on experience in a critical healthcare setting.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and arrange surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies before procedures.
• Maintain strict sterilisation protocols for all OT instruments and surfaces.
• Assist surgeons and nursing staff during operations by handing over instruments and managing consumables.
• Monitor and troubleshoot OT equipment, reporting any faults promptly.
• Ensure proper documentation of instrument counts and equipment usage.
• Participate in routine cleaning, inventory management, and compliance audits.

Required profile

• Diploma in a relevant medical or paramedical field.
• 0‑2 years of experience in an operating theatre or similar clinical environment.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to infection‑control standards.
• Ability to work collaboratively with surgeons, nurses, and support staff.

Required skills

• Knowledge of sterilisation techniques and instrument handling.
• Familiarity with OT equipment setup and basic troubleshooting.
• Understanding of surgical asepsis and patient safety protocols.
