Medical Coder Team Lead (Outpatient)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Medical Coder to lead our outpatient coding team. The Team Lead will guide staff, ensure compliance with client guidelines, and drive productivity and quality improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of medical coders, fostering teamwork and camaraderie.
• Monitor productivity and quality metrics, providing monthly touch‑bases and quarterly performance reviews.
• Act as liaison between the client, upper management, and staff to ensure clear communication and adherence to guidelines.
• Address client concerns, facilitate client meetings, and ensure stakeholder alignment.
• Enforce company policies and ensure staff compliance with all regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a medical or allied health field or equivalent clinical experience.
• 3–5 years of professional billing coding experience (EM, SDS, etc.) with prior Epic exposure.
• Previous supervisory or team‑lead experience is a plus.
• Certified Coder (AAPC or AHIMA) and strong verbal and written communication skills.
