About the role

The Operating Room (OR) Nurse (RN) provides direct nursing care to surgical patients in Davao City, supporting doctors during procedures for patients who are unable to pay. The role focuses on maintaining a sterile environment, assisting with anesthesia, and ensuring patient safety throughout the operation.

Key responsibilities

• Observe aseptic technique and practice universal precautions to prevent infection.
• Implement and direct sterilization processes for all operating‑room procedures and instruments.
• Monitor the sterile field, identify breaches, and take corrective action.
• Apply the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation) for each surgical patient.
• Assist with induction and emergence of anesthesia and participate in emergency resuscitation when needed.
• Collaborate with anesthesia and surgical teams to position patients safely.
• Perform sponge, sharps, and instrument counts according to policy.
• Identify, label, and manage drugs within the sterile field.
• Document nursing actions accurately in patient records and complete required hospital forms.
• Utilize supplies efficiently and cross‑train on other nursing duties as required.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) qualification.
• Experience working in an operating‑room or surgical setting.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique, infection control, and universal precautions.
• Ability to follow decontamination, sterilization, and disinfection protocols.
