Night Dispatcher – Sea Logistics Specialist

About the role

The Night Dispatcher coordinates after‑hours transportation operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely movement of drivers, equipment, and freight. Acting as the primary point of contact during overnight shifts, the role monitors driver activity, resolves operational issues, and maintains communication with drivers, terminals, and on‑call management.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and dispatch drivers during overnight and after‑hours operations.
• Track driver status, loads, arrivals, departures, and delays using dispatch and tracking systems.
• Communicate assignments, routing changes, and delays to drivers.
• Respond to equipment issues, incidents, weather disruptions, and service interruptions.
• Escalate emergencies, accidents, or critical issues to on‑call management.
• Ensure compliance with Hours‑of‑Service, company policies, and safety procedures.
• Maintain accurate, real‑time logs, dispatch notes, and operational records.
• Coordinate with terminals, customers, vendors, and maintenance providers as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or related field.
• At least 2 years of similar after‑hours dispatch experience.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Persistent problem‑solving and escalation abilities.
• Ability to handle large volumes of data independently.
• Analytical mindset with responsibility for multi‑time‑zone operations.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts.

Required skills

• Proficient with Microsoft Excel (intermediate level).
• Experience using dispatch and tracking systems.
