Middle Mile Lead

About the role

The Middle Mile Lead is responsible for overseeing daily operations and performance of the Middle Mile function, ensuring efficient vehicle resource management, route execution, and integration with SPX sortation centers and hub networks.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day Middle Mile operations, monitoring vehicle allocation and inter‑island logistics.
• Collaborate with VRM Allocation Lead, IIS Lead, and other coordinators to optimise productivity and economics.
• Track driver performance, identify issues, and implement corrective action plans.
• Lead projects to launch new routes, design planning processes, and embed route operations into SPX hub and fleet models.
• Coach and mentor the team, fostering high customer service standards and operational excellence.
• Recruit, train and supervise Middle Mile Leads for effective route oversight.
• Prepare and submit performance reports, dashboards, and SOP recommendations.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of managerial experience in logistics, transport or supply‑chain operations.
• Proven people‑management experience with direct reports in an operational setting.
• Strong analytical ability and attention to detail in productivity management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and the local language.
• Willingness to work non‑standard hours, including shifts and nights.
