Mechanical & Electrical Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Design Engineer (Mechanical/Electrical) to lead MEP design activities for our projects. The role involves close coordination with internal teams, Japanese management, consultants, and suppliers to ensure design quality and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) design activities across internal and external stakeholders.
• Prepare, review, and validate MEP drawings, calculations, layouts, specifications, and technical documents.
• Communicate design progress, technical issues, and project requirements with Japanese management and clients.
• Evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals, perform quantity take‑offs, and recommend value‑engineering solutions.
• Provide technical advice on MEP systems, construction methods, and existing facility challenges.
• Participate in site inspections and client/construction meetings related to MEP works.
• Ensure adherence to legal regulations, ISO standards, and KTMS.PH Integrated Management System procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Licensed Electrical or Mechanical Engineer (PRC) or equivalent international certification.
• Minimum 5 years of proactive experience in estimating and bid preparation.
• Experience in a Japanese company is a strong advantage.
• Fluent in English and Japanese (JLPT N1‑N3).

• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Project management software.
• CAD tools – AutoCAD and Revit.
• Simulation software (unspecified).
