Materials Buyer/Planner

About the role

MasTec Communications Group is seeking a Materials Buyer/Planner to manage the procurement and planning of goods and services required for its national infrastructure projects. You will work closely with internal teams to forecast demand, negotiate with suppliers, and ensure timely delivery of materials.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and determine the purchasing needs of the organization.
• Collaborate with Scoping and Production to forecast demand and evaluate inventory levels.
• Negotiate with suppliers and perform cost management to identify potential savings.
• Create purchase orders following defined protocols and assist in receipt of purchased materials.
• Monitor deliveries, track past‑due shipments, and maintain detailed purchase records.
• Build and manage supplier relationships, conducting routine performance reviews.

Required profile

• Proven track record of high‑quality work and problem‑solving.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent time‑management, organizational planning, and project management abilities.
• Ability to follow instructions, respond to management direction, and keep commitments.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suites.
