Construction Manager – Vertical & Horizontal Projects

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Construction Manager to oversee, direct, and manage both vertical and horizontal construction projects from conception to completion. The role balances structural building projects such as residential, commercial or high‑rise buildings with civil infrastructure works like roads, highways, drainage and utilities. The successful candidate will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in strict compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day operations for vertical (structural, architectural, MEP) and horizontal (earthworks, paving, drainage, grading) scopes.
• Review and interpret architectural, structural and civil engineering drawings.
• Supervise site engineers, foremen, subcontractors and labourers, ensuring clear communication.
• Develop and maintain project schedules using MS Project or Primavera P6, tracking critical paths.
• Control project budgets, monitor expenditures, approve progress billings and evaluate variation orders.
• Enforce QA/QC standards and HSE protocols, conducting regular site inspections.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field; Professional Engineer licence preferred.
• 5–8 years of construction management experience handling both vertical structures and horizontal infrastructure.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, problem‑solving and time‑management abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with project management software such as MS Project and Primavera P6.
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, BIM and Civil 3D.
• In‑depth understanding of construction methods, materials and relevant legal regulations (building codes, environmental permits).
