Management Accountant (Manufacturing) - Remote

About the role

A multi-entity, multi-currency global manufacturing business is looking for a Management Accountant / Business Analyst to own financial reporting, management accounting and data analysis. The role works remotely, with a 9:00 AM-6:00 PM schedule (AEST) or 7:00 AM-4:00 PM (PH time), and turns financial and operational data into insights that support reporting, process improvements and decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Weekly: maintain the P&L outlook for the Auto/Automotive division, investigate significant variances, update sales forecasts, maintain sales and margin reports by business unit, and support Sales Managers with weekly data.
• Monthly: prepare P&L by business unit with variances, journals, accruals and adjustments; reconcile P&L, Balance Sheet and Sales & Margin (PHP) to the general ledger; prepare corporate requirements such as material recovery for environmental reporting; maintain Prophix data and prepare management packs.
• Quarterly: review standard costs and recommend updates, prepare transfer prices for internal supply, review their impact on margins, update supplier, customer prices and standard costs, run resin price sensitivity analysis, and update rolling quarterly budgets.
• Business partnering: support operations managers and the Auto/Automotive division, perform inventory health analysis, assist sales with price list uploads, help with costing and pricing of new items, and support capex and tax matters.
• Process improvement: maintain management accounting procedures, support projects and initiatives, and follow up on issues arising from the role.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry.
• CA or CPA qualification preferred.
• In-depth understanding of accounting principles and theories.
• Ability to read, understand and recommend improvements to key manufacturing metrics.

Required skills

• Standard costing, budgeting and forecasting in a manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of manufacturing costing concepts such as BOM, routings, cycle counts, labour hours and work centres.
• Advanced Excel skills.
