Legal and Compliance Officer

About the role

We are looking for a proactive, commercially‑minded lawyer to join our Legal and Compliance Department in a fast‑moving fintech environment. The successful candidate will provide legal and regulatory guidance across labor, HR, data privacy, anti‑money‑laundering, consumer protection and corporate governance matters.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the regulatory calendar and ensure timely filings with SEC, NPC, AMLC, BIR, LGUs and other authorities.
• Monitor legal developments affecting lending, fintech, data privacy, AML and taxation, translating them into practical policies and procedures.
• Serve as Data Protection Officer, overseeing compliance with the Data Privacy Act and related internal controls.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, vendor agreements and confidentiality agreements.
• Provide legal advice to HR on recruitment, employment contracts, workplace policies, employee relations and disciplinary actions.
• Support new product launches by assessing legal and regulatory requirements early in the development cycle.
• Maintain organized repositories for contracts, licences, permits and corporate records.

Required profile

• Law degree and active Philippine bar registration.
• Strong background in Philippine labor and employment law, HR advisory and regulatory compliance.
• Experience in fintech or financial services, with knowledge of AML, consumer protection and data privacy regulations.
• Excellent legal judgment, issue‑spotting ability and disciplined execution.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with HR, product, operations, risk, finance and regional teams.
