Executive Legal Counsel

About the role

We are seeking an Executive Legal Counsel to work directly with a senior principal, providing high‑level legal advice and strategic support. This position offers unique exposure to corporate practice, public service, legislative work, and executive decision‑making, with close mentorship and real responsibility.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive briefing materials, legal risk assessments, and strategic recommendations before each meeting.
• Track action items and deadlines following meetings to ensure timely execution.
• Conduct legal research on complex issues, draft opinions, and monitor new legislation and regulatory developments.
• Accompany the principal to government, congressional, and regulatory engagements, coordinating professionally with officials and stakeholders.
• Monitor active legal matters, follow up with associates and partners, and oversee firm‑wide legal work as needed.
• Draft legal opinions, position papers, memos, proposals, presentations, and coordinate contributions from other lawyers and staff.
• Collaborate closely with the Executive Assistant to ensure the principal is fully prepared for all engagements.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor degree and admission to the Philippine Bar.
• 2–6 years of legal practice experience.
• Experience in corporate law, regulatory compliance, government transactions, procurement, legislative work, or corporate governance.
• Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical abilities.
• Willingness to travel and accompany the principal to meetings.
• Professional demeanor, excellent communication, and political awareness.
