About the role
Union Bank of the Philippines is looking for a Journey Site Reliability Engineer to join a dedicated team focused on critical banking and payment journeys. Reporting to the Journey SRE Head, you will partner with product, engineering, DevOps, and business stakeholders to drive reliability, observability, and performance.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in defining and tracking Service Level Objectives (SLOs) for core banking and payment services.
- Support chaos engineering experiments, fault injection testing, and other reliability practices.
- Collaborate with development teams to reduce mean time to detection (MTTD) and mean time to recovery (MTTR).
- Help set up and maintain observability tooling (Dynatrace), dashboards, and alerts.
- Participate in load testing, performance tuning, and CI/CD pipeline integration.
- Take part in incident response, root cause analysis, and playbook development.
- Work with application teams to embed reliability principles into their workflows.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 1‑5 years of experience in software engineering or related technical roles.
- Strong analytical mindset with a focus on operational excellence.
