IT Project Manager – Healthcare

About the role

Optum is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead end‑to‑end clinical and non‑clinical projects for its healthcare initiatives. The role involves defining scope, creating detailed plans, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end projects (clinical and non‑clinical) aligned with client initiatives and regulatory requirements.
• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource allocation.
• Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and maintain documentation for audits and compliance.
• Collaborate with clinical, administrative, and IT teams to gather requirements and provide regular status updates to leadership.
• Facilitate meetings, ensure transparency in progress tracking, and adhere to company policies and directives.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in IT project management, preferably in healthcare.
• Proven people‑management experience and ability to lead cross‑functional teams.
• Experience with project‑management tools such as MS Project or ServiceNow.
• Basic understanding of IT infrastructure and software development life‑cycle (SDLC).
• Strong communication skills and prior experience working with onshore clients.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and competing priorities effectively.
