Hostess – Guest Reception & Service

About the role

The Hostess is the first point of contact for guests at the restaurant, responsible for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. This role combines front‑of‑house service, guest interaction, and basic cashiering duties to ensure a seamless dining experience.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly with a friendly smile and establish eye contact.
• Thank guests on departure and convey anticipation for their next visit.
• Seat guests, lead them to their tables, and introduce the restaurant’s offerings.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the entrance, ensuring menus, flyers and magazines are neatly arranged.
• Handle guest inquiries via phone and email in a professional manner, providing accurate property information.
• Conduct monthly inventory checks of host‑related equipment and supplies.
• Record guest preferences and update information as needed.
• Follow all brand standards, health, safety and hygiene policies.
• Perform cashiering duties, including cash handling, billing processes and preparation of cash reports.
• Assist with any additional duties assigned by supervisors to support restaurant operations.

Required profile

• Warm, courteous and flamboyant personality with strong guest‑service orientation.
• Ability to remain calm and handle multiple guest requests in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
• Knowledge of hotel/property information to answer frequently asked questions.
• Adherence to company policies, fire safety, hygiene and personal grooming standards.
• Willingness to attend training sessions and adapt to changes in food‑and‑beverage operations.
