Grid Manager

About the role

As a Grid Manager you will oversee the generation assets of the hydropower grid, working closely with the Operations & Maintenance team to maximise revenue, minimise losses and ensure high reliability. The role is based in Benguet and contributes to AboitizPower’s mission of transforming energy for a better world.

Key responsibilities

• Manage generation assets, optimise water use and reduce operating costs.
• Control OPEX and CAPEX, prepare short‑ and long‑term budgets and monitor expenditures.
• Develop and implement improvement plans for hydropower systems and oversee asset management programmes.
• Ensure industry‑standard availability and reliability metrics, and drive cost‑saving initiatives.
• Report plant performance, production, budget commitments and kWh losses to senior management.
• Oversee inventory, spare parts procurement and logistics to support continuous operations.
• Lead team communication, motivate staff, resolve grievances and promote teamwork.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing hydropower or similar generation assets.
• Strong understanding of OPEX/CAPEX budgeting and financial control.
• Knowledge of asset management standards (FMECA, RCM) and root‑cause analysis.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with operations, maintenance and supply chain.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
