Frontend Software Engineer - Weather Platform

About the role

DTN is looking for a Frontend Software Engineer to join its B2C engineering team and help build, maintain and improve a global consumer weather platform used by millions of users. The role works on high-traffic, customer-facing web products where performance, reliability, usability and scalability are critical, in close collaboration with frontend and backend engineers, QA, product and UX teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain modern web applications using JavaScript, React and Next.js
• Build responsive and accessible user interfaces with HTML and CSS
• Integrate frontend applications with APIs and backend services
• Investigate and resolve defects, performance issues and production problems
• Write clean, maintainable, reusable and well-tested code, and take part in code reviews
• Work with QA on testing, releases and production deployments
• Improve application performance, reliability, scalability and maintainability
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams across multiple locations and time zones

Required profile

• Strong experience with JavaScript and modern frontend development
• Good working knowledge of React and familiarity with Next.js, including client-side and server-side rendering
• Experience integrating with REST APIs or similar backend services
• Experience with Git-based workflows and pull requests
• Ability to deliver moderately complex features independently within a collaborative team

Required skills

• Strong understanding of CSS, responsive design and modern web layouts
• Understanding of browser behaviour, web performance and cross-browser compatibility
• Debugging and problem-solving skills
• Desirable: TypeScript, CI/CD pipelines and AWS, high-traffic consumer apps, web monitoring and analytics, accessibility and SEO
