Financial Controller – Offshore Hybrid (Philippines)

About the role

The Financial Controller will ensure the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of the company’s financial reporting and accounting records. Reporting to the Finance Director, the role is based in the Philippines and operates on a hybrid schedule, supporting offshore operations for an Australian entity.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and submit monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS).
• Manage month‑end and year‑end close processes, ensuring completeness and accuracy of all financial records.
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, fixed assets, accruals, pre‑payments and intercompany transactions.
• Produce management reports and financial analyses to support business decision‑making.
• Ensure compliance with PFRS, BIR regulations, SEC requirements and other statutory obligations.
• Oversee preparation and timely filing of tax returns and regulatory reports.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, prepare audit schedules and address audit findings.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls, conducting periodic reviews of accounting processes.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and local tax regulations.
• Experience managing month‑end and year‑end close cycles.
• Proven ability to coordinate audits and implement corrective actions.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to regulatory compliance.
