Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our remote team supporting small and medium‑sized businesses. You will manage bookkeeping staff, oversee core accounting functions, and collaborate closely with our fractional CFO.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise bookkeeping staff and allocate duties across the team.
• Take full responsibility for accounts receivable and accounts payable across multiple client accounts.
• Execute month‑end close processes, including transaction booking, adjusting journal entries, and preparing financial statements.
• Maintain daily use of Ramp (AP platform) and QuickBooks Online.
• Provide reliable financial data for forecasting and assist the fractional CFO with financial modeling and data entry.
• Review and correct financials before CFO review to minimize adjustments.
• Participate in special projects such as due‑diligence for fundraising, acquisitions, and audit preparation.
• Communicate clearly with team members and clients, working both collaboratively and independently.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of experience as a Controller.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and accounting process management.
• Willingness and ability to work US business hours.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, proactive attitude, and eagerness to learn.

Required skills

• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online.
• Experience with Ramp (preferred).
• Advanced Excel skills for financial modeling.
