Finance Officer

About the role

The Finance Officer will support the Country Program’s accounting systems, ensuring compliance with CRS standards, GAAP, donor regulations, and legal requirements. This position involves documenting financial transactions, preparing entries, and delivering accurate financial reports to support high‑quality humanitarian programs.

Key responsibilities

• Review and validate supporting documentation before processing transactions, ensuring accuracy and proper authorizations.
• Maintain data in the Insight financial accounting package for assigned accounts.
• Record transactions, analyze accounts for irregularities, and prepare correcting entries as needed.
• Monitor disbursement and receipt schedules, alert staff of due payments, and facilitate timely financial resource management.
• Prepare periodic and ad‑hoc financial reports and perform variance analyses.
• Evaluate and monitor sub‑recipient financial management processes and provide capacity‑building support.

Required profile

• B.A. in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or equivalent qualification (CPA/ACCA preferred).
• Minimum two years of relevant experience, preferably with an international or local NGO or a financial institution.
• Good written and spoken Filipino and English.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Insight financial accounting software (or similar).
• Advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
• Experience with web‑conferencing applications.
• Knowledge of financial reporting software (preferred).
