Family Practitioner / General Practitioner – Rural Clinic

About the role

The Family Practitioner will join a modern rural clinic on Cortes Island to deliver comprehensive primary care to the local community. This position offers the chance to build long‑term relationships with patients and contribute to culturally safe health services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide consultations, examinations, urgent and same‑day medical access.
• Deliver services in addictions medicine, primary reproductive care, and chronic disease management.
• Perform minor medical procedures and oversee ongoing monitoring and follow‑up care.
• Support the clinic’s goal of increasing patient attachment year over year.

Required profile

• Licensed Family Physician eligible to practice in British Columbia.
• Willingness to work part‑time (2‑4 physicians) or full‑time in a remote, community‑focused setting.
• Commitment to culturally safe care and community engagement.

• Recruitment incentive up to $20,000 (full‑time).
• Relocation reimbursement up to $15,000.
• Fee premium of 16.07% and an annual flat fee of $24,896.16.
• Rural CME funding ranging from $1,320 to $5,720 per year based on tenure.
• Modern clinic space with two exam rooms, a PCP office, nurses’ room, remote pharmacy, and a treatment area with two beds.
