Engineering Consultant – Tanium/Desktop Administration

About the role

Optum is seeking an Engineering Consultant to lead Tanium and desktop administration initiatives. The role focuses on enterprise‑wide patch management, endpoint security, and Windows environment maintenance to support health‑care operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and administer Tanium modules (Patch, Deploy, Asset, Threat Response).
• Execute enterprise‑wide patch management and monitor deployment cycles.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and remediation using Tanium and integrated tools.
• Develop and maintain automated remediation scripts and workflows.
• Generate compliance and security reports for stakeholders.
• Design, build, and maintain endpoint configurations, system images, and Windows OS lifecycle.
• Handle software packaging, deployment, and updates.
• Optimize endpoint performance, troubleshoot OS, application, and hardware issues.
• Collaborate with security teams to address threats and ensure audit compliance.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis and implement preventive measures.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in patch management and desktop engineering.
• Hands‑on experience with Tanium (Patch, Deploy, Asset, Threat Response).
• Strong background in Windows OS administration and endpoint lifecycle management.
• Proven ability to develop PowerShell automation scripts.
• Solid troubleshooting and analytical skills.
