Employee Relations Specialist

About the role

The Employee Relations Specialist supports positive employee experiences across a regional workforce, focusing on employee relations, compliance, and benefits administration. The role partners with HR leadership, managers, and employees to provide guidance, resolve issues, and ensure alignment with applicable regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Employee Relations: act as the primary contact for inquiries, conduct investigations, coach managers on performance and conflict resolution, track cases, and support policy development and engagement initiatives.
• Compliance & HR Operations: ensure HR practices comply with local employment laws, maintain and audit documentation, support internal audits, and contribute to process improvements.
• Benefits Administration: oversee day‑to‑day benefits plan administration, liaise with insurance carriers and brokers, assist employees with inquiries and life‑event changes, manage enrollments and terminations, coordinate open enrollment activities, and evaluate plan performance for compliance.

Required profile

• College degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of employee‑relations experience within the relevant jurisdiction.
• Working knowledge of local employment legislation.
• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters with discretion and professionalism.
• Strong communication, relationship‑building, and conflict‑resolution skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with HRIS platforms.
