Duty Engineer (NUSTAR)

About the role

The Duty Engineer (NUSTAR) is responsible for ensuring smooth and professional hotel operations during each shift. This role supports the Front Office Manager and Director of Rooms by overseeing front office activities, guest relations, and staff performance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee front office associates in room allocation, check‑in/check‑out, luggage handling, and report printing.
• Monitor daily operations, resolve issues promptly, and ensure guest satisfaction, especially for VIP guests.
• Supervise and assign tasks to team members, conduct regular check‑ins, and address grievances.
• Assist in training new hires and organize ongoing training sessions for existing staff.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and oversee security of hotel premises.
• Conduct daily inspection rounds, report maintenance needs, and coordinate cleaning schedules.
• Prepare management reports on budgets, performance metrics, and operational efficiency.
• Maintain an incident logbook and resolve room discrepancies and billing issues immediately.

Required profile

• Experience in front office or hotel operations.
• Proven ability to supervise staff and manage shift activities.
• Strong problem‑solving skills for guest complaints and operational issues.
• Familiarity with hotel policies, health and safety standards, and security procedures.
