Director of Events Management

About the role

The Director of Events Management will lead the events team at Shangri‑La Mactan, a 5‑star beachfront resort in Cebu. Reporting to senior hotel leadership, you will be responsible for driving event‑related revenue, ensuring flawless execution of all events, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the events management team to meet revenue targets.
• Collaborate closely with the sales and marketing teams to generate new business and expand existing accounts.
• Plan, implement and monitor all events, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to budget.
• Work with department heads to coordinate resources and maintain the highest service standards.
• Continuously seek opportunities to enhance guest satisfaction and create memorable experiences.

Required profile

• Passion for event management within a luxury hospitality environment.
• Minimum 5‑star hotel sales and marketing experience.
• Confident, tactful, friendly, and trustworthy leadership style.
• Self‑driven, goal‑oriented, and able to challenge the status quo.
• Highly organized, detail‑focused, and guest‑oriented.

Required skills

• Fluent written and spoken English (local language also required).
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Excellent selling and negotiation skills.
