Director, Control Management Shared Services

About the role

The Director for Control Management Shared Services leads a team of Risk, Controls and Compliance Management Specialists. This role provides expert regulatory advice, oversees governance of Capital One’s risk, controls and compliance programs, and builds strong partnerships across first and second line of defense functions.

Key responsibilities

• Provides strategic oversight and people management for control testing, compliance and risk management functions.
• Builds strong partnerships with risk advisors to ensure consistent and comprehensive guidance for the business.
• Performs extensive gap assessments and creates recommendations for smart business decisions.
• Monitors remediation plans of any internal or regulatory findings within the business area of responsibility.
• Works with dynamic teams on departmental process management and execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least 10 years of experience in Risk Management.
• At least 5 years of experience in People Management.
• Willingness to work a mid‑shift schedule and in a hybrid work setup.
• Post‑graduate degree or foundational knowledge in Financial Services is preferred.

• Agile methodology knowledge.
• Compliance (CRCM) certification.
