Databricks Data Engineer (Cebu)

About the role

We are looking for a Databricks Data Engineer to design, develop and maintain robust data solutions in Cebu. You will build end‑to‑end pipelines, ensure data quality, and support analytics and machine‑learning initiatives across our cloud environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Databricks technologies such as Delta Lake, Auto Loader and Delta Live Tables (DLT).
• Write production‑grade Python and PySpark code for data transformation, validation and PII masking.
• Implement ingestion patterns with checkpointing, schema evolution and secure data access via Unity Catalog.
• Configure Unity Catalog objects, manage access controls, audit logging and data masking.
• Integrate Power BI, Tableau or Looker with Databricks using optimized ODBC/JDBC connectors.
• Build stakeholder‑facing SQL dashboards to monitor KPIs, pipeline health and SLAs.
• Prepare GenAI‑compatible datasets, manage vector embeddings and use Feature Store with MLflow.
• Package and deploy pipelines with Databricks Asset Bundles through CI/CD pipelines in GitHub or GitLab.
• Troubleshoot, tune and optimise jobs using Photon engine and serverless compute for cost efficiency.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience with cloud‑based data engineering, data warehousing and real‑time streaming.
• Strong understanding of data modelling, performance optimisation and data‑quality best practices.
• Hands‑on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP or Azure).
• Familiarity with data‑orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow) and DevOps practices.
