Data Engineer (IBM Cognos) - Retail Banking

About the role

ING is hiring a Data Engineer for its Retail Banking team in Manila, within ING Hubs Philippines, an international team supporting the Retail Banking business. You will develop analytics and reporting solutions end to end, from sourcing and transforming data to building reports, dashboards and data models, working closely with business stakeholders and technical teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain reporting and analytics solutions that support business performance and decision-making
• Gather requirements and turn business needs into scalable data and reporting solutions
• Extract, transform, validate and integrate data from multiple sources
• Design and implement data handling processes, including ingestion, transformation, modelling and storage
• Build dashboards and reports using Cognos and Power BI
• Analyse complex datasets to identify trends, risks and opportunities, and present insights to stakeholders
• Ensure data quality, consistency and reliability across reporting assets

Required profile

• At least 2-5 years of experience in a data-related role
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics or a related quantitative discipline
• Nice to have: experience in banking, financial services or highly regulated industries; exposure to predictive analytics and statistical modelling; experience presenting recommendations to senior stakeholders

Required skills

• ETL tools such as IBM DataStage or similar
• SQL and relational database management systems
• Cognos and Power BI for dashboards and reports
• Data warehousing, data quality and business intelligence concepts
