Consultant – Capital Projects (Process Construction)

About the role

OceanaGold is seeking an experienced Consultant for Capital Projects (Process Construction) to work on the Didipio underground mine in the Philippines. The consultant will mentor Filipino Construction Coordinators, oversee contractor activities, and ensure all construction work complies with safety, quality, and budget requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a visible on‑site presence, completing at least four Critical Control Verifications or Task Observations every five days.
• Coach construction crews and coordinators during pre‑shift meetings to identify high‑risk tasks and hold points.
• Provide leadership and clear direction to the construction team, defining roles and performance expectations.
• Assist the Manager – Capital Projects in resource planning and act as liaison for skill development.
• Ensure construction activities meet design specifications, schedule, and budget.
• Participate in design and constructability reviews to confirm safe, buildable solutions.
• Train frontline coordinators to independently manage project activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in construction coordination or project management within capital‑intensive environments.
• Strong knowledge of HSE policies and ability to enforce compliance on‑site.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop local construction teams.
• Excellent communication skills and a safety‑first mindset.
