Construction Estimator – Residential (Remote, Night Shift)

About the role

The Construction Estimator will own the accuracy and reliability of residential construction cost estimates, ensuring each project starts with a solid financial foundation and stays on budget through completion. Working remotely on a night‑shift schedule, you will translate drawings, specifications, and scope requirements into detailed cost plans that guide procurement, budgeting, and execution.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quantity take‑offs for materials and labor based on project drawings and specifications.
• Build structured cost estimates, evaluate alternates, and propose value‑engineering options.
• Review subcontractor quotations for completeness and accuracy, compare bids, and support purchasing decisions.
• Track variations, allowances, and change orders against the approved budget.
• Monitor actual costs versus budgeted estimates, report variances, and provide cost insights to stakeholders.
• Support feasibility studies, cost planning for new developments, and provide cost input during design and pre‑construction stages.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in residential estimating, quantity surveying, or cost engineering.
• Hands‑on experience preparing material take‑offs and detailed cost estimates for single‑family home projects.
• Strong working knowledge of Excel and construction estimating tools.
• Experience supporting budgeting, procurement, and cost‑control processes.
• Willingness to work a fixed night‑shift schedule (8:00 PM – 5:00 AM, Monday‑Friday) in a fully remote setup.
