Commis 3 – Kitchen Assistant

About the role

The Commis 3 supports daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth service and meeting guest expectations. Working under the Chef De Partie or Commis 1, the role focuses on food production and kitchen section duties.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the culinary operations of a specific kitchen or outlet, following instructions from senior staff.
• Produce food items according to standard recipes and maintain consistent presentation and quality.
• Uphold hygiene, safety, and food licensing standards, adhering to the hotel’s hygiene program.
• Monitor kitchen equipment, report defects, and ensure proper maintenance.
• Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to supervisors promptly.
• Control breakage, spoilage, and cost items while managing inventory and storage.
• Use kitchen equipment safely, following correct manual handling and lifting techniques.

Required profile

• 0‑2 years of experience in a kitchen environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent, with professional or on‑the‑job hospitality training.
• Ability to read and communicate in English.
• Computer literate in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Outlook) and knowledgeable in the SWS system.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift objects up to 11 kg and work in noisy, dusty, or fume‑filled environments.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including overnight, weekends and holidays.
