Career Counselor / Career Guidance Teacher (Female)

About the role

The school is seeking a dedicated Career Counselor to guide high‑school, intermediate and degree students in exploring academic strengths, interests and future career paths. The role involves one‑on‑one and group counseling, assessments, workshops and coordination with teachers and parents.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular individual and group counseling sessions for students.
• Assess interests, aptitudes and personality traits using standardized tools.
• Educate students about career options, academic pathways and skill‑development opportunities.
• Assist students in subject‑selection decisions aligned with CBSE and university guidelines.
• Organise career awareness programs, guest lectures and interactive sessions with professionals.
• Maintain confidential counseling records and monitor student progress.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents and academic coordinators on academic and behavioural concerns.
• Support students during key transitions such as moving from middle to secondary school or preparing for board and university exams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Education or a related field.
• Certification or Diploma in Career Counseling (preferred).
• 3–5 years of experience in school counseling, preferably in a CBSE environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an empathetic, patient demeanor.

Required skills

• Proficiency in conducting career assessments and interpreting results.
• Organisational ability for event planning and record maintenance.
• Familiarity with the CBSE curriculum and Indian education system.
