Backhoe Operator – Construction Equipment Specialist

About the role

The Backhoe Operator will operate heavy equipment such as backhoes, excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and graders on construction and public‑works projects in Davao City. The role involves digging trenches, moving earth, loading materials, grading surfaces, and supporting site restoration and emergency response activities.

Key responsibilities

• Operate backhoes, excavators, bulldozers, loaders and graders safely and efficiently.
• Perform pre‑operational checks, routine maintenance, cleaning and lubrication of equipment.
• Excavate trenches, move earth, load and unload materials, and grade surfaces according to project plans.
• Assist with traffic control, site restoration and emergency response tasks such as water‑main breaks.
• Conduct equipment inspections and carry out basic repairs as needed.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of experience operating backhoes or similar heavy equipment on civil, utility or public‑works projects.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to read blueprints, maps and specifications.
• Strong safety awareness and knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations.
