About the role

Mercado-Gephart & Nacua (MGN) Law Firm is seeking an Associate Lawyer to join its Cebu office. The role involves handling a broad range of legal matters, from corporate compliance to civil, criminal, and administrative litigation, while providing practical, client‑focused advice.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and edit legal documents, pleadings, contracts, and correspondence.
• Conduct thorough legal research and prepare memoranda to support case strategy.
• Meet with clients to assess issues, explain legal concepts, and develop actionable solutions.
• Coordinate with partners and team members to advance cases efficiently.
• Appear before courts and administrative bodies, negotiate on behalf of clients, and represent their interests.
• Maintain accurate case files, documentation, and deadlines.

Required profile

• Law degree and active license to practice law in the Philippines.
• Strong analytical, research, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with the capacity to explain complex legal matters clearly.
• Highly organized, able to manage multiple matters and meet strict deadlines.
• Professional ethics, client‑centered mindset, and willingness to work in a hybrid environment.
