Associate Finance Controller

About the role

As an Associate Finance Controller you will join Maersk's Accounting Operations team, supporting day‑to‑day financial transactions across a global logistics business. The role focuses on ensuring accuracy, regulatory compliance and providing insightful financial analysis to drive business performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage general accounting activities and ensure timely, accurate recording of transactions.
• Perform cost accounting tasks, including allocation of direct and indirect costs and variance analysis against budgets.
• Develop, monitor and report on annual revenue and expense budgets to control funds and measure operating results.
• Review accounts payable and accounts receivable to reconcile balances and manage open items.
• Support month‑end close processes and preparation of financial statements.
• Mentor junior staff and provide informal supervision of lower‑level professionals.
• Influence tactical decisions by applying deep technical knowledge within the finance function.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in accounting operations, cost accounting or budget management.
• Ability to work independently within defined guidelines while seeking guidance on complex tasks.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and willingness to coach less‑experienced colleagues.
