Assistant Manager Sales - Events

About the role

The Assistant Manager Sales - Events supports the Sales & Marketing team by handling guest inquiries, processing reservations, and driving revenue through effective sales techniques and up‑selling. This role ensures a high level of guest satisfaction while promoting Marriott’s brand both internally and externally.

Key responsibilities

• Resolve guest calls, requests, and problems by coordinating with relevant departments.
• Apply sales techniques to maximize revenue and maintain guest loyalty, including up‑selling and offering complimentary rewards.
• Process reservation requests, changes, and cancellations received via phone, fax, or mail.
• Enter Marriott Rewards information into the appropriate reservation software.
• Perform general office duties such as filing, emailing, typing, and faxing to support Sales & Marketing.
• Assist management in training and motivating staff, serving as a role model.
• Maintain professional appearance, confidentiality, and adherence to company policies.
• Provide courteous guest service, anticipate needs, and ensure a positive experience.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 2 years of related work experience in sales, customer service, or hospitality.
• No supervisory experience required.
