Assistant Director of Events Management

About the role

The Assistant Director of Events Management supports the Director in shaping departmental strategy, meeting revenue targets, and delivering flawless events. This senior hospitality professional leads the Events Management team and ensures every event meets the highest standards of quality and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Director of Events Management in strategy development and revenue generation.
• Oversee the Events Management team, including Managers, Executives, and Assistants.
• Manage key client relationships and complex event requirements.
• Supervise the full event lifecycle from inquiry and proposal to execution and post‑event follow‑up.
• Ensure operational excellence, revenue maximisation, and adherence to hotel standards.
• Maintain confidentiality, comply with company policies, and work within budget limits.
• Motivate, develop, and model the company culture for team members.
• Perform additional tasks as required to support departmental efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Tourism Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in event sales, planning and management, preferably in a luxury hotel environment.
• Proven experience handling social events, weddings, MICE and corporate events.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation and presentation abilities.
• Strong financial acumen and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and according to event schedules.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using event management systems.
• Knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM) practices.
