APAC Custody Tax Operations Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an experienced, client‑focused specialist to lead withholding tax operations and tax client servicing for a portfolio of institutional clients across the APAC region. The role ensures high‑quality, proactive tax services, optimal withholding rates, and timely tax reclaim activity.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for clients on withholding tax matters, handling enquiries accurately and within agreed timelines.
• Develop a deep understanding of each client’s tax profile, investment structure and market activity.
• Oversee collection, review and maintenance of tax documentation to secure optimal withholding tax rates.
• Monitor tax treatment on client investments and collaborate with internal teams to resolve exceptions or delays.
• Manage tax reclaim activity, ensuring timely submission and active monitoring of aged items.
• Coordinate and chair client meetings, presenting documentation, reclaim status and service updates.
• Track, manage and report on client queries, risks and service issues, escalating when necessary.
• Stay informed of changes in tax regimes and translate them into operational procedures.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in tax operations or related client service roles.
• Strong relationship‑management and communication skills.
• Ability to analyse complex tax queries and propose effective solutions.
• Proactive mindset with a focus on risk management and regulatory compliance.
