Air Freight Coordinator

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Air Freight Coordinator to manage day‑to‑day air freight import operations for a UK‑based freight forwarding business. The role is fully remote, requiring close communication with customers, airlines, overseas agents, customs brokers, and hauliers.

Key responsibilities

• Handle air freight import shipments from pre‑alert through customs clearance to final delivery.
• Review and complete shipment documentation, liaise with overseas agents and suppliers for missing paperwork.
• Coordinate customs clearance, airline collections, haulage, and delivery arrangements.
• Communicate shipment status and updates to customers via phone and email.
• Provide accurate quotations and maintain records in the transport management system.
• Resolve service issues, exceptions, and delays proactively.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience in air freight forwarding operations.
• Proven experience managing full import shipment lifecycles.
• Strong written and spoken English with excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently, make operational decisions, and handle pressure.

Required skills

• CargoWise (strongly preferred).
