AI Policy and Governance Officer

About the role

The AI Policy and Governance Officer will support the creation, implementation and oversight of policies that ensure the ethical and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI across the organization. Working closely with risk, compliance and data teams, the officer will help embed transparency, fairness and accountability into AI initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in drafting and updating AI governance policies, covering the full AI lifecycle from development to monitoring, and ensure alignment with BSP regulations and the NIST AI Risk Management Framework.
• Monitor compliance with AI governance frameworks, maintain audit‑ready documentation, and raise non‑compliance issues to senior leadership.
• Support risk and ethical assessments for AI projects, focusing on bias mitigation, fairness and transparency.
• Coordinate awareness programs and training sessions on AI governance for internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Prepare dashboards and reports on AI compliance metrics for steering committees and support governance reviews.
• Track emerging AI regulations and best practices, recommending policy updates and process improvements.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of AI governance, ethical AI principles and relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., BSP, NIST).
• Experience in policy development, compliance monitoring and risk assessment within a technology‑focused environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
