AI Application Developer

About the role

We are looking for an AI Application Developer to design, build, and maintain AI‑driven applications that ingest and process knowledge‑base content. You will work on extracting, transforming, and storing both structured and unstructured data such as Excel files, PDFs, images, and database records, and enable retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and support AI applications focused on knowledge‑base ingestion and data preparation.
• Build and maintain robust data pipelines for machine‑learning models, ensuring data quality and efficient processing.
• Implement document parsing, text preprocessing, and chunking strategies for RAG systems.
• Design workflows to retrieve relevant data and inject context into AI prompts.
• Develop and integrate backend services using Python frameworks like Django or FastAPI.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to test, deploy, and improve AI models and pipelines.
• Support containerised deployments using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts to reduce hallucinations and enhance response accuracy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
• Relevant experience in AI/ML, data engineering, or backend development with production‑level AI systems.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, embeddings, vector databases, and RAG architecture.
• Proven problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Libraries: pandas, numpy, openpyxl, requests, PyPDF.
• Backend frameworks: Django, FastAPI.
• Data pipeline construction and optimisation.
• Document parsing, text preprocessing, chunking, and normalization.
• Vector databases and similarity search mechanisms.
• Containerisation: Docker, Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of prompt engineering and techniques to minimise AI hallucinations.
• Experience with AI workflow/orchestration tools such as Dify (optional).
